Japan Whaling Controversy
Whaling is the hunting of whales for scientific research and their usable products like meat, oil and blubber.Its earliest forms date to at least circa 3000 BC. Coastal communities around the world have long histories of subsistence whaling and harvesting beached whales.
Whaling is a brutal and bloody business, and although there has been strong opposition to it from millions of people around the world, Japan, Norway, and Iceland continue to hunt and kill these beautiful creatures by the boat load.
